In the wake of the release of Intel’s Ivy Bridge family of chips, AMD has slashed prices on its APUs by an average of 15-20%.

This follows a pattern of GPU price-cutting by AMD, which Hardware Canucks first reported on in mid April.

As first reported by CPU World, the prices of AMD A-Series APUs were reduced by $10 – $30; the price of the quad-core AMD A8-3850 was slashed by $20; the unlocked A6-3670K was reduced from $115 to $100; the A8-3870K was reduced to $115 from $135.

The FX line of chips also got a significant price slash: the FX-8150 was cut from $245 to $205, and the FX-8120 was cut from $185 to $165.
