EA Plugs Up Free Game Loophole After Damage was Already Done

This past weekend, select users of Origin were sent a satisfaction survey. Upon completion of said survey, a code for $20 off of a selection of games on Origin was presented. The problem was, this code was not account specific and could be used by anyone at any time.

Essentially, this let players "purchase" massive amounts of games priced at $20 or lower and not pay a single penny. EA has quickly plugged this hole, but the damage has already been done, with some people claiming they picked up well over 40 games for nothing.

EA issued a statement saying that those who completed the survey will get a new code via email "soon" to make use of the discount promotion. At present, all promotional codes have been disabled for use through the Origin website.
